Set in the foothills of the northern Catskills of New York State, Cooperstown
is best known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. As the birthplace
of America's favorite pastime, Cooperstown features a number of baseball related
attractions: the American Baseball Experience, which houses three floors of
memorabilia; Cooperstown Dream Park, a 14-field complex which hosts the Cooperstown
Dreams Park National Invitational and several other tournaments from June to
August; the Heroes of Baseball Wax Museum, featuring over 30 life-size legends;
and collectors' shops, where visitors can find baseball collectibles and autographed
memorabilia. But baseball isn't all Cooperstown has to offer. National art exhibits,
concerts, world-class opera and a variety of theatrical productions illimuniate
the city's cultural scene. Also known for its hops, visitors enjoy touring Cooperstown's
breweries and sampling the local beer.
